Sharing the adventure…

October already, the weeks are flying by!

Well few things to catch up on here!

Got some photo’s form my last bit of south island travelling and news on what I have been up to the last couple of weeks starting work and Rugby World Cup fun :)

So after the last update which was about Franz Joseph we started heading inland through the mountains, we were heading towards a place called Makarora which was an overnight stop literally in the middle of no where! not a sniff of phone signal, and we stayed in these cool looking A frame cabins. On the way to here we stopped off at a few scenic spots for photos.

The next day we headed towards Queenstown, stopping again a few times for photo’s, headed to the bizarre Puzzle world place in Wanaka which was lots of fun! very touristy but worth going too. Also Wanaka itself and the lake was really nice, definitely somewhere I will stop for longer next time.

Next up was Queenstown, just before we got here we stopped at the Kawarau Bridge, which is the home of bungee and where AJ Hackett started it all… so obviously it had to be done! Amazing surroundings for the jump, and another one to tick off the list :) I wanted to get dipped in the water, but sadly was not to be… River was too low, and I wasn’t fat enough basically! need to eat more pie’s for next time ha.

Then in Queenstown tried to cram in as much as possible with my last few days before I started work!.

First night we all went out on the Ice Bar Crawl, got taken around several places including the Minus 5 Ice Bar and ended in the World Bar… Great night!… Next day had a lie in then took a Gondola ride up to the top of Queenstown, checked out the ledge Bungee (was very tempted!) and then did some Luge racing with Chris.

Next day spend the day skiing on Coronet Peak, followed by watching the France v New Zealand game. Then Sunday spent the morning on the amazing Shotover Canyon Swing before heading back on the plane to Auckland.

Very tiring last few days of freedom!!

Now onto my first day at work, I actually have to rewind a bit here as there had been a massive change of plan… Basically if you had read the September post you would have heard about my job offers in Wellington. But basically I got tempted else where, and have ended up staying in Auckland working here for a very cool little company right in the city… Great offices, great people and it just felt right! plus my heart was always in trying to stay in Auckland so that won.

So the first week flew by! was a bit of a struggle at first as I had a bit of man flu from the skiing in the mountains and pushing myself too hard in Queenstown… But it was definitely a successful first week, ended up drinking in the office 4 – 7pm on the Friday getting to know everyone :)

Next up on the catchup list was Eden Park! was lucky enough to watch the England v Scotland game live, was definitely a nail biting game and had me worried but glad England won in the end… especially as I was surrounded by a lot of vocal Scotland supporters who were delighting in England first half struggles!

Well that’s it for now! Enjoy :)

Can’t believe how time is flying over here, soon will have to start thinking about what I’m going to do during my Christmas/Summer holidays here! Bring on the sun!
